<p>Your mind is so efficient that within a blink of an eye it can deliver whatever it is you desire. It can offer you health, wealth and happiness and all you have to do is ask for it. So what do you need to do to develop these mind skills further and improve your life? Meditation.</p>

<p>You don&#039;t have to be perfect every day. You can start new habits, which will put you on the path to being happy in your later life. From the site called “The Optimizer” there’s an article titled  “<em>How To Be A Better Person, Day By Day.</em>” They discuss the situation that many people get into by blaming others for the position they are currently in. What the article says is that <strong>you have to take responsibility for your own life, and that includes any mistakes you have made.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Make the decision to grow spiritually every day</strong>, and that can be achieved just by doing something nice for someone, or reading a chapter from a self-help book. Whatever you do, it will help in your spiritual growth. Believe in yourself, and know that you can make the changes needed. To un-clutter your mind, you need to <strong>get rid of all negative thoughts and replace them with positive ones.</strong></p>
<p>To keep your mind clear of negative thoughts, hang around with positive role models, who will keep you from going back to your old ingrained habits. Being healthy in the mind will also lead you to you being healthy in the body.</p>
<p>Keeping a daily journal is a great way to list your achievements and keep a record of what you have changed each day. This will help you reach old age with a far better outlook. <li>Don’t jump to conclusions and just assume that you know what others are talking about. Human beings are notorious for thinking the wrong things.</li>
<li> Don’t make a big drama out of something that goes wrong for you. All it does is cause anxiety.</li>
<li> Don’t make up silly rules for yourself. All you do is restrict yourself and clutter your mind with childish ideas.</li>
<li> Don’t stereotype people. If you label people then you will have pre-set ideas about them.</li>
<li> Don’t be a perfectionist. You don’t have to be perfect at everything you do. You will fail sometimes.</li>
<li> Don’t get upset if you have a couple of setbacks. If something goes wrong 2 or 3 times, it doesn’t mean that it will be an ongoing situation.</li>

Here are a few tips on how to boost energy:</p>
<blockquote><p><strong>1. Lay off the alcohol.</strong></p>
<p>Alcohol leads to dehydration, and frays your nerves. Needless to say, you may lose your ability to stay focused. Alcohol fatigues more than it relaxes, especially when your use becomes excessive or habitual.</p>
<p><strong>2. Do without some caffeine and sugar.</strong></p>
<p>Things like coffee, chocolate, and so-called energy bars and energy drinks offer an apparent quick fix for exhaustion, and may give the feeling of a sudden surge of energy. But this peak is quickly replaced by a valley. Don’t rely on these things to keep a high energy level.<span id="more-40"></span></p>
<p><strong>3. Slow and steady wins the race.</strong></p>
<p>Don’t consume all of your calories in a couple of large meals. Spread them out, with smaller portions and snacks over the course of your day. This will give you a constant stream of energy. Besides, everyone knows that we often feel tired after a large meal.</p>
<p><strong>4. Hydration, hydration, hydration!</strong></p>
<p>Did we mention hydration? Water is the one thing your organism absolutely cannot do without. A lot of our exhaustion can be chalked up to a simple lack of proper hydration. Make sure to drink a minimum of 8 glasses of water per day, over the course of your day.</p>
<p><strong>5. Lunch lightly but efficiently.</strong></p>
<p>What you really need from a healthy lunch is a good balance of protein and carbohydrates. This will keep you feeling productive for the second half of your day.</p>
<p><strong>6. Start the day off right.</strong></p>
<p>Breakfasts that feature a healthy mix of carbohydrates and protein can make a huge difference in your productivity, all day long. If you start the day off incorrectly, it can be hard to make up for it later. Think of carbohydrates as fuel. Oddly enough, though, if you consume too much at once, your body can expend so much energy in processing these carbohydrates that you can actually experience a drop in energy. With protein, things are quite the opposite. Thus, the necessity for properly balancing the two. Plan every breakfast to include one serving of each.</p>
<p><strong>7. End your day with a moderate meal.</strong></p>
<p>When the workday is over, your body is already beginning to slow down naturally, particularly your digestive system. There’s no reason to inundate it with mountains of food matter to process. A rule of thumb is that anytime you overdo it with eating, you’re more likely to feel tired than energized.</p></blockquote>

<p>We get through the things we have to do, but many, if not most of us, complain that we are tired, and we feel we are stretching our bodies to the maximum.  <font color="#0000ff">How can we remedy this situation?</font></p>
<p>The answer lies in <u>some very basic practices</u>.  In a way, these are the practices of yesteryear.  They are time-tested practices that medical practitioners continue to support, and that our parents have always preached.</p>
<blockquote><p>They are:  (1) getting enough <span id="more-92"></span>sleep, (2) Eating well, and (3) Exercising.</p></blockquote>
<p>There is more and more evidence that our nation is sleep deprived.  We’re trying to fit in so much in a day, thinking that we’re “beating the clock.”  In effect, our daily activities often get us to bed <em>late</em>, and <em>up early</em> in the morning, so that we may be getting 6 hours of sleep at best.</p>
<p>According to a report from Harvard Medical School, chronic sleep deprivation can ultimately lead to health problems, including weight gain and high blood pressure.  Sleep deprivation, in addition to making us feel tired, has a major affect on our immune system.  (Harvard Women’s Health Watch).</p>
<p>If we’re tired from too little sleep, of course we won’t have the energy we want.  So, <strong>the first thing</strong> we must do is to get seven to eight hours of sleep each night.</p>
<p>The second Energy basic relates to eating well.  Food is the fuel for our bodily functions.  If we skimp on meals, or don’t eat the right foods, than we won’t feel very well.</p>

<p>The foods Forberg recommends are those that have been touted many times by other medical practitioners:  a combination of berries, citrus, legumes, vegetables, whole grains, salmon, olive oil, tea, nuts and seeds.</p></blockquote>
<p>It is well known that eating sugary treats may boost your energy immediately, <strong>but </strong>the outflow of insulin will help to plunge your sugar back down drastically within a few hours, leading to less energy than before.</p>
<p>So, reaching for that candy bar for a pick-up at 3:00 p.m. will not help your energy problem.  The sound diet foods mentioned above are the way to go for a real energy boost!</p>
<p>Finally, exercise is a great booster of “feel good” chemicals in the body.  According to an article by Jennifer Warner of WebMD Medical News, Nov. 2006, it has been shown that you will get more energy from taking a walk, rather than taking a nap!</p>
<p>Getting up each morning and doing some exercise, or starting a regular exercise program will go a long way to helping you feel better overall and have more energy.</p>
<p><strong>The bottom line:</strong>  get enough sleep, eat well, and exercise regularly and you will find the energy you need to do everything you want to do.</p>

<p>What is healthy living, and how can we achieve it?</p>
<p>Healthful living is an all-encompassing way of life that takes into account how we approach our life, how we eat, what we do for recreation, and how we react to situations.</p>
<p>The total amount of energy we have will depend on all of these elements.  Harnessing the power of healthy living takes some thought and work.  It’s easy to stay in our own lifestyle because we’re too busy with everything to change it.</p>
<p>Yet, if we want to have more energy, <span id="more-83"></span>we have to stop and think what we need to do to get a better balance in life.</p>
<p>Here are some steps to take start experiencing the power of healthy living:</p>

<li><strong>Examine how you approach life</strong>.  Do you rush around so much that you never stop for any enjoyment?  Do you approach life with a positive attitude?  A more relaxed, accepting attitude will help you face those hard times a little better.  Negative attitudes sap energy and move us away from the good in situations.</li>

<li><strong>Think about the health of your body and mind</strong>.  Are you eating well, or grabbing things on the run?  Are you getting enough sleep at night? You need to get plenty of rest, eat well, and exercise to get the most energy out of your body.</li>

<li><strong>Do you have enough recreation in your life?</strong>  Do you go out with friends fairly regularly?  Recreation and time with friends are great ways to charge your batteries.  When you are out of the house doing something you like, you put aside the worries of the day that may otherwise drain your energy.</li>

<li><strong>Do you react powerfully and negatively to bad situations?</strong>  If so, you are draining your energy.  It is very hard to react well to difficult situations. Moments later, you feel the rush of sugar and caffeine, and hack away at the computer, pushing ahead on the project, with your eyes on the prize. But after an hour or so has passed, your high of a moment ago suddenly plunges into a deep valley; you feel completely drained. Once again, you reach for another energy drink or coffee. The vicious circle reasserts itself, every time you try to boost your energy level.</p>
<p>Maybe it’s time to step back and evaluate the causes of this pattern. The simple scientific fact is that sugar and caffeine have no energy benefits whatsoever. Although they may produce a fleeting sensation of higher energy, you’ll realize, the minute it passes, that they’ve only succeeded in sapping your energy, leading you to feel more exhausted than you were when you first reached for the coffee maker.</p>
<p>What about sugar? It’s full of carbohydrates, and therefore has the reputation as a sort of high-octane fuel for the body and mind. However, while some carbohydrates, such as those found in starches, inject their energy over time into your blood circulation, sugar dumps its energy almost immediately into the blood. Naturally, your sugar levels in the blood experience a sudden spike. Insulin is emitted by the pancreas in response, redirecting that extra sugar floating around in your veins to your cells. So, overall, the level of sugar in your bloodstream actually falls, compared even to when you first began to enjoy that chocolate or “energy bar.”</p>
<p>Used in moderation (as with just about anything in life), caffeine isn’t necessarily a health threat. It may increase your mental focus or clarify your thinking, if taken in small doses. But if you indulge in it a bit too often, the law of diminishing returns sets in. Not only will you derive less and less benefit from every successive cup of coffee, but you’ll in fact add to your exhaustion. Analyze your caffeine intake over several days, and try to determine where your cut-off point is—the point where that coffee or energy drink stops helping, and starts hurting. Then, you can enjoy caffeine in reasonable doses, without compromising your productivity.</p>
<p>Maybe you should formulate a new strategy, and think of ways to boost your energy naturally. The quick fixes you’ve resorted to in the past may actually be hurting more than helping.</p>
